Kissing In The Dark

Jessie pointed at the sky. "Found the big dipper."

Woody looked in the direction she pointed. "I thought that was the little dipper."

"Both look pretty big to me." Jessie commented with a shrug.

Woody chuckled.

"Don't you just love how they shine?" Jessie asked.

"O'course. But they got some competition with the moon tonight. Never seen it glow so bright." Woody replied with a smile.

"You're right. It sure is beautiful tonight, ain't it?"

Woody turned his head to face Jessie. "I've seen prettier."

"Oh really?" Jessie asked as she turned to face him as well.

"I'm looking at her right now."

Jessie could feel her cheeks heating up, and it wasn't the sunburn this time. "You don't mean that..."

Woody propped himself up on his elbow. "O'course I do, Jess."

Jessie smiled at him. "Well, for what it's worth, this is the most fun I've had in a long time. Thank you, Woody."

"My pleasure." Woody replied with a tip of his hat.

They had moved closer to each other, although they didn't realize it. Their noses were almost touching.

Jessie closed the distance by gently touching her lips to his. Woody welcomed the kiss as his lips moved in sync with her's.

They smiled at each other as their lips parted.

"Ya know, I think I like fishin' in the dark." Jessie commented.

Woody smiled. "I think I do, too."

A glowing firefly flew past them, illuminating their faces as their lips met again under the the stars.
